The Best Brown and Lake Trout Fishing in Yellowstone National Park
Excellent fly fishing for both Brown Trout and Lake Trout
The gin clear waters of Lewis Lake in Yellowstone National Park provide some excellent fly fishing for both Brown Trout and Lake Trout during much of the summer and late in the fall. Depending on conditions, sometimes we fish with sinking lines and others we throw dry flies at cruising trout. We begin guiding on this lake just as soon as the ice comes off the lake after Memorial Day weekend.
Character of the Water
Sometimes we will fish both Lewis and Yellowstone Lakes in a single day. This mostly depends on the weather and the timing, but can provide a great day fishing for a variety of fish. Come join us for some of this truly great lake fishing in a pristine environment.
Time to Fish
We start guiding on Lewis Lake after Memorial Day, and continue deep into the Fall. Learn how your trip timing will affect the fishing conditions.
What’s Hatching
Both fly and spin fishing work very well on this lake and we are happy to guide both types of fishermen.
