Snake River

The Upper Snake River here in Jackson Hole is  swinging into Summer, post runoff condition. Flows are above average at Jackson Lake dam, yet clear and the fishing is quite good. Below the Buffalo Fork the conditions are improving daily and the fishing is good but with so much water it can be a test in patience to hunt the active zones. Below Moose the flows are clearing but the volume is a lot and precaution should be maintained at all times. Most days we are seeing a few golden stones, sallies and pmd’s, dry droppers seem to be the ticket! Stay safe and enjoy!

PLEASE, FISH BARBLESS HOOKS AND TAKE CARE OF OUR PRIZED NATIVE CUTTHROATS!

Snake River Tributaries

Flows are dropping and the fishing is very good with a variety of attractors, streamers and nymphs. Extra caution when wading the higher flows to that secret spot.

Goldens, caddis, green drakes and PMD’s

Lava Creek Ranch

Staying consistent with dry droppers in the mornings and moving deeper as the day heats up. Great place to share fly fishing with the entire family and learn a lot while chasing some large trout!

Give us a call if you want to reserve a day on this private trophy trout lake!

Salt River

Flows are below average and the fishing has been outstanding. Pressure can slow the bite as the summer progresses but good cold water will hopefully keep the trout healthy and we hope to see a great hopper season here.

Teton Park Lakes

JACKSON LAKE: Lake levels are falling but the fishing has been good for lake trout at 30-45′. Green and white tubes and jig streamers, #2 Spark Plug!

JENNY LAKE: Flying ants and beetles in the late afternoon. Lake trout positioned at 40′-50′, white tubes, slow and low.

Green River

Flows are clear and remaining a little high at 1400cfs. Good bug activity in the middle sections, grey drakes, golden stones, caddis and a mix of smaller mayflies. Streamers still moving nice fish off flats and boulder banks, black dungeon!

Yellowstone National Park

The lakes are in peak condition with good insect and leech activity. Soon the callibaetis will dominate YL for a couple weeks. Recent cold front will stall the emergence another week but cool nights and windy afternoons are keeping the fish on the prowl and the streamer fishing has been good.

Lewis lake is fishing well but a little technical with gin clear water and sensitive trout. Lake trout are still in water less than 8′ and taking small nymphs and leech streamers.
