Snake River

The Snake River in Jackson Hole is now at low winter flows for the remainder of the 2023 season. For visiting fall anglers this is good news as the low flows make wading access much easier and concentrates fish in long deep runs but the fish will remain on the edges as long as we have a steady flow of hatches like BWO”s and mahoganies. Water temps are in the low 50’s and the best action is after about 11am on calm afternoons. Streamers and droppers are a great bet if you are not seeing insects or rising fish.

PLEASE, FISH BARBLESS HOOKS AND TAKE CARE OF OUR PRIZED NATIVE CUTTHROATS!

Snake River Tributaries

Flows are good on many tribs due to frequent rains this summer keeping the groundwater recharged. Flows are also quite cold and activity is slow until late afternoon on several of the best tribs. Until then try streamers and nymphs, after lunch on the warm sunny days try ants and hoppers for a couple more weeks.

Lava Creek Ranch- Fly Fishing for Trophy Rainbows and Tiger Trout with Grand Teton Fly Fishing!

Fishing has been very good here and our guides are finding trophy fish almost daily, some well over 6 lbs! We are using black leeches and dark chubbies in the #12 size with a jig nymph. Hold on!

Salt River

Cold low and clear, go on sunny afternoons. Streamers on some sections getting grabs from browns

Teton Park Lakes

JACKSON LAKE: Closed until November 1, 2023… we’ll see you there!

JENNY LAKE: Spawning lake trout along the northeastern shore. Take care of these fish, most days they are not interested at all when spawning but fun to see.

Green River

Some action still holding on in the mid sections of the green and new fork but most of the browns are moving into spawning zones. Lower sections are a good bet if not too dirty from recent rain. Either way get outside and strip some streamers, looking for a trophy brown or rainbow! Please, always mash your barbs!

Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone Lake is sleepy, some fish off deeper weed lines in 20′ but overall slow.

Lewis Lake is tough to beat from the southern access and JH. Fish are moving into the channel but are also active on the main lake. Channel browns will move on an olive or ginger streamer stripped quickly. Find lots of small lake trout along hard bottoms in 15′ olive and white best.

Some browns will still wack a dry fly in the afternoon, give it the twitch to wake them up!
