Snake River

The Snake River in Jackson Hole is holding on but not for much longer before our runoff kicks in. Current flows are edging upward daily but have remained low enough for great spring fly fishing. As long as night time lows keep dropping below freezing it should remain fishable, once that changes or the afternoons are in the 70’s it will tilt to a muddy mess. Typically this happens the last week in April or around May 1st, right on time.

Otherwise, we are having great afternoons with skwallas and a variety of nymphs and streamers. Fish are holding in inside riffles and slow, deeper runs/banks.

See you out there!

Snake River Tributaries

Flows are coming up on the tribs like the Snake and soon will be too high to really have much luck. For now, try Wolly buggers and basic black or brown nymphs.

Ice fishing season was epic! For now the ice is unsafe and we wait for the ice to come off, probably by May 10th… Will you be the first guest after ice off?

Salt River

High and dirty, probably until mid/late June.

Teton Park Lakes

JACKSON LAKE: Ice coming off in the next couple weeks, Let’s go!!

JENNY LAKE: Ice off around May 10th.

Green/NF River

This area is fishing quite well right now with nymphs and streamers. Later in the day a hatch will have some heads looking up, especially on the windless days. Olive and black streamers have been producing as well as dark nymphs, #16 in inside flats near deep, winter holes. Best sections are below Daniel and Boulder.

Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone Lake is sleepy, some fish off deeper weed lines in 20′ but overall slow.

Lewis Lake is tough to beat from the southern access and JH. Fish are moving into the channel but are also active on the main lake. Channel browns will move on an olive or ginger streamer stripped quickly. Find lots of small lake trout along hard bottoms in 15′ olive and white best.

Some browns will still wack a dry fly in the afternoon, give it the twitch to wake them up!
